Paolo Nutini è tornato a sorpresa con il doppio singolo Through the Echoes / Lose it che apre la strada al nuovo album Last Night in the Bittersweet, in arrivo a luglio. E subito dopo un tour che toccherà anche l’Italia. Finalmente è tornato.
Paolo Nutini ha pubblicato a sorpresa l’11 maggio il doppio singolo Through the Echoes / Lose it (disponibile qui), prima anticipazione dal quarto album in studio Last Night in the Bittersweet (preordinalo qui) in uscita l’1 luglio. Dopo un’attesa durata ben 8 anni dall’ultimo lavoro Caustic Love, finalmente i fan del cantautore scozzese potranno godere di tanta nuova musica.

Il significato di Through the Echoes / Lose it
Through the Echoes e Lose it sono due declinazioni musicali distinte del processo creativo di Paolo Nutini. Il cantautore ha voluto testimoniare il percorso che lo ha portato alla maturazione del nuovo progetto, mentre sentiva di aver bisogno che la musica gli tendesse una mano. Through the Echoes è una dedica alla musica, che gli è sempre andata incontro, anche quando risuonava come una eco flebile nel vento (otto anni sono tanti). Una ballata delicata che riporta Nutini alle atmosfere soul che lo hanno consacrato al successo, con venature folk, che fanno brillare la voce sua preziosa, davvero un dono.
Lose it è il lato estroso, frutto della sua sperimentazione al basso. È un mantra rock dall’andatura motorik, anni ’70, voce effettata, distorta come in un viaggio nella sua mente: l’ansia da pagina bianca, dei nuovi inizi quando si ha paura di fallire… un po’ come gennaio e i suoi buoni propositi per il nuovo anno. Il singolo invita a esorcizzare i propri demoni, a buttarli fuori e ballare. I cori di questo ritorno di Paolo Nutini rappresentano il coraggio di chi ha voglia di lasciarsi andare.
